Demystifying Shakespeare

Picture

“We can say of Shakespeare, that never has a man turned so little knowledge to such great account.” - T.S. Eliot

Shakespearean works are an exciting and necessary part of literary education.

Poet-performers use elements of Poetry Slam™ to bring to life the brilliant works of the great bard, William Shakespeare. Our team believes that deploying current ‘pop’ forms of literature and interactive theatre is a logical way to decode the dialogue, plot, characterization and themes of Shakespearean plays.
  • Plunge into the exciting world of Shakespeare’s most popular plays through performance poetry techniques and drama modalities
  • Open the door to the language, characters, concerns and storyline of one play for e.g. A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet or Macbeth
  • Learn some of the Early Modern English words’ meanings, sentence structure and puns to understand and enjoy the genius and humour in Shakespeare’s work
  • Demystify Shakespeare’s works by juxtaposing them with contemporary works
